Go figure

Early 2006: Thai people are pissed and protest that Thaksin is making his money at the expense of the local companies and people

Early April : Thai Rak Thai party calls for early elections in Thailand (estimated cost US$ 50m). People continue to protest. Take it to the streets.

April 2: Thaksin claims victory with 57% votes in an uncontested election. People are going nuts. Thailand is on fire.

April 5: King Bhumibol Adulyadej's steps in, advises the courts to rule the election as unlawful. Thaksin steps down. Hands reigns over to a temp PM. Announces that he will not talk part in active polictics anymore.

Apr - May: People are happy. Emotions subside. Enjoy their holiday and victory.

May 23rd: Taksin is back to head of the Cabinet.

So what is going on in the head of this Thai guy who once had plans to buy Liverpool?

The dude ain't gona give up all the power he had that easily. I figure he was just letting people cool off, loose the momentum they had in April. Considering that June is the time people get back to work (so people will have less time to protest) and more importantly King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 60th anniversary celebration, Takshin has timed his re-entry to perfection.
